MoneyVoice is a tech startup based in Oakland, CA and Paris, France. Background:

In addition to our existing app where our users give feedback to businesses, we are building a SaaS product for businesses where they can see this feedback, analyze financial data about the feedback, and respond to customers. It is now time to start making businesses aware of MoneyVoice, and of the feedback that their customers have already written for them. We want businesses to start responding to customer feedback by taking actions that our users have requested, or at least sending response messages. The launch of our SaaS product will subsequently scale and monetize this activity.

Who we are looking for:

Our business outreach priorities will be defined in large part by what users are asking businesses to do in MoneyVoice, and by certain strategic actions that we want to encourage businesses to take. Many of these desired actions will involve social or environmental causes. As a result, this role requires someone who is fluent in such causes, and is able to effectively engage with advocacy groups as well as businesses. A successful candidate will be able to start their relationship with a business while wearing a “community organizer” hat, and then put on their “salesperson” hat once they have succeeded at demonstrating value to the business. This role is a critical part of our small team. You will report to the Head of Business Product, and also work closely with the user engagement team and the CEO. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position based in Oakland. Compensation depends on experience and whether you want to prioritize receiving more cash or more equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and qualify businesses based on company goals
  • Outreach to small and medium businesses to make them aware of feedback and invite them to respond or take action
  • Assist businesses with preparing response messages to feedback and provide those responses to the user engagement team
  • Evangelize and pitch the MoneyVoice SaaS product to small and mid-size businesses through sales demonstrations
  • Close sales of our SaaS software and assist business customers with onboarding
  • Track status of all prospects in CRM
  • Identify optimal positioning by listening closely to the needs/desires/objections expressed by a wide variety of potential buyers, and sharing insights with executive team
  • Assist Head of Business Product with developing new product features
  • Lead customer service for businesses until we have dedicated account managers
  • Assist with creating marketing materials for the business audience
  • Capture quotes and testimonials from businesses that can be used for marketing
  • Help facilitate communication between businesses and users advocating for changes

Qualifications of an ideal candidate:

  • SMB sales experience
  • Advocacy or community organizing experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to spend lots of time on phone calls or visiting businesses
  • Well-organized, reliable, able to follow direction, has a bias toward action
  • Ability to speak about the value of customer engagement, as well as the data and insights that MoneyVoice provides
  • Outgoing, buoyant interaction style and resilience to rejection
  • Flexible and comfortable in a startup environment: uncertainty + infinite opportunity
